MANHATTAN, NY - 05/25/2018 — Bravo has teamed up with The King of Dramedy director and producer, JD Lawrence. Lawrence is the executive producer and star behind some of urban theatre’s biggest hits on stage and television. JD Lawrence’s The Clean Up Woman (BET) was the networks first three-hour theatrical special and JD Lawrence’s Community Service on Magic Johnson’s Aspire Network was a two-hour special all written, directed and executive produced by Lawrence. Both shows are now available on DVD. Once again, JD Lawrence brings the Urban Theatre genre mainstream. The breakout star bosses up and joins the ranks of top Bravo talent like Andy Cohen, NeNe Leaks and Lisa Vanderpump. JD Lawrence has taken the Urban Theatre aka “Chitlin’ Circuit” by storm playing multiple comedic characters and selling out venues across the country. Lawrence is now looking to expand his brand to scripted television, film and Broadway. The New York Times calls Lawrence "Onstage, a prodigious theatrical talent."
